Ein gwaith a'n tybiau'n ofer fydd,
Os oer a marw yw ein ffydd;
Nid oes ond bywiol ffydd o'r nen
A'n dwg at Grist
ein bywiol Ben.
Ffydd bura'r galon o bob pla,
A ffydd drwy gariad gweithio wna,
Ffydd ymlid ffwrdd bob cysur gau,
A chodi'r serch
i'r nef y mae.
Ffydd sy'n gorchfygu
drygau'r byd,
Ffydd goncra uffern
er ei llid,
Ffydd lwydda yn yr olaf awr,
A'i gwobr fry, trwy ras,
fydd mawr.

Our work and our hopes shall be in vain,
If cold and dead is our faith;
There is only a lively faith from heaven
That shall bring us to Christ
our lively Head.
Faith purifies the heart of every plague,
And faith through love shall work,
Faith chases away every false comfort,
And raising the affection
to heaven it is.
'Tis faith that overcomes
the evils of the world,
Faith shall conquer hell
despite its wrath,
Faith shall succeed in the last hour,
And its prize above, through grace,
shall be great.

Vain are our fancies, airy flights,
If faith be cold and dead;
None but a living power unites
To Christ,
the living Head:
A faith that changes all the heart;
A faith that works by love;
That bids all sinful joys depart,
And lifts the
thoughts above.
'Tis faith that conquers
earth and hell,
By an almighty
power:
This is the grace
that shall prevail
In the decisive hour.
